The term our neighborhood (Monalisa in Arabic) is a daily word for the Damascus and the terms above have been in usage in Damascus for hundreds of years.

Whether a Damascene still lives inside the old city's walls or in one of the new quarters he/she still uses this expression " that's our neighborhood "...

This terms was the source for the inspiration of calling our restaurant "Monalisa" which lies in the heart of old Damascus along its narrow alleys and inside the old city's walls where a thousand tales are told and communicated among the dwellers.......
